Every pet owner hopes that their pet dog has healthy and beautiful hair. For the Cocker Spaniel, its fashion and beauty directly depend on the texture and luster of the hair. So how should we groom dogs? Today I will share with you how to groom cocker spaniels.
First of all, comb the cocker spaniel in time. Generally, it is best to stick to 1-2 times a day. During the grooming process, let the Cocker Spaniel stand correctly on the grooming table or directly on the ground. Then take out the comb, and use a needle brush from the hindquarters to the frontquarters to comb slowly in the direction of the hair. When combing the hair of the buttocks, head, eyes, ears, and abdomen, the movements should be very gentle and slow, and do not pull the dog.
Secondly, the ears and toenails of the cocker spaniel should be cleaned in time, and the hair that is too long on the body should be trimmed. Note that all the grooming tools we need can be purchased in pet stores. Pay attention when cleaning the ears, be sure to stabilize the dog’s body, and then pluck the ear hair and drop ear oil to clean the ear canal. At the same time, the hair on the toes of the Cocker Spaniel must be trimmed in time, otherwise the long hair will easily affect the normal walking of the dog.
Finally, although we don’t need to bathe the Cocker Spaniel frequently, we must bathe it in time. You should comb its hair before taking a bath. The bath must be carried out in a warm room. Do not bathe the cocker spaniel in a cold and humid environment. At the same time, after bathing the Cocker Spaniel, be sure to dry the wet hair with a hair dryer to prevent the dog from catching a cold and getting sick.
